How to grow your small business

Influence and reach… When you start considering the potential success of your business, large or small, you think about these two things (among lots of others, of course) and here at Sheepers, we’re no different. How can we impact on the buying decisions of as many people as possible? And how far can we extend that impact?

The idea of becoming a ‘household name’ in any arena is the ultimate goal for many, but it can be a long road to travel and, of course, there are few that truly ‘make it’. It’s largely about finding that niche and making your product the best it can be within that niche. Well at least that’s the idea, but with over 200,000 more small businesses starting up by the beginning of last year, compared to the beginning of 2018, according to the National Federation of the Self-Employed and Small Businesses statistics, competition can be fierce.

What can give you that edge, that step up, that influence on consumer buying and ultimately increase your reach? Celebrity endorsements for one. This is a multi-million pound industry in itself of course, and Sheepers isn’t quite in that league yet, but if you can get a celebrity to be seen and photographed with/wearing/using your product, then you’re increasing people’s awareness of your brand, building trust and credibility, and over time, creating a sense of familiarity. Ultimately, you hope you can create a demand for it too. And we’ve been pretty lucky here at Sheepers. The likes of singer-songwriter Jessie Ware, journalist and author Bella Mackie, radio and TV presenter Sarah Powell, former TOWIE star Ferne McCann and singer and TV personality Stacey Solomon have all been spotted wearing Sheepers. US musician Colette Carr even took two pairs to Coachella!

And it’s not just celebrities who are key to this either. It’s the bloggers and social media influencers too, such as @Fashionfoiegras aka Emily Jane Johnston , @parttimeworkingmummy, @mother_ofall_adventures, @olkafiolka, @ultimategirlgang and @mothershoppers to name just a few.

Sheepers would like to give a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s supported us and spread the word. The aim to make Sheepers the ‘go to’ brand in the world of slippers particularly is edging ever closer.
