I have had a passion for fashion and the arts since I was young and growing up around London I always loved visiting galleries, people watching and creating and sketching ideas.
From studying art and then fashion marketing at university I went onto a career in buying for high street brands creating gorgeous nightwear and developing beautiful fabrics. I loved the prints and shapes we could create.
Creating a capsule range and having a collection of my own has always been a goal of mine and from working with gorgeous styles and organic fabrics I started working on an idea to create a childrens wear range around 4 years ago.
Elizabeth Eve started out as a handful of styles, printed locally in Camden and some wicker hampers to make up gift sets for new parents. This has since developed into the range that is available today at elizabetheve.co.uk. I would describe the style as cute, minimal and modern with classic shapes and quality fabrics. I’m a bit obsessed with white and grey with soft flashes of colour so you will see this throughout the site.
Elizabeth Eve is very much a labour of love, I spend a lot of my time sat on the floor surrounded by baby grows, tissue paper and cardboard boxes! But I love every minute of it and sending out orders to people who have discovered your site and decided to shop with an independent brand is the best feeling! I’m excited for the future and developing into the styles and offering even more.
Each baby gift set is carefully wrapped in white tissue and every gift card is hand written by me – its lovely reading the messages of congratulations from family, friends and colleagues when they are sending a gift.
Social media and Instagram has been a fantastic resource for me to connect with other small businesses and showcase the range. I would definitely recommended anyone looking to start a business to use social media as much as possible to build your brand and connect to your community. Its also a great way to share ideas and join conversations. I launched some fantastic new boxes last year in collaboration with Kokoso baby coconut oil, which I first spotted from their great Instagram photography.
In the next year there will be some exciting new additions to the Elizabeth Eve range so watch this space! Over the last month I have been putting together the new styles and some adorable new prints. I like to ensure that every part of the product is thought through, from making sure the labels don’t scratch to using the best and softest fabric available. Its certainly not fast fashion – but it is quality and I cant think of anything better when buying for a new born.
