Before we know it, the 10th of March will be upon us, so if you’re out of ideas on what to do on Mother’s Day, you’ve certainly come to the right place, friend!
All mums deserve to feel special, and there are no two opinions about it! Here’s a Mother’s Day gift guide to help you plan the special day, including a fantastic in-person Slipkit workshop we’re offering for a limited time.

Gift and Activity ideas to make Mother’s Day extra special this year
Everybody loves a heavenly cuppa
Few mums would refuse a lovely and elegant cup of afternoon tea. We’re talking about the finest cuppa money can buy and a glass of fizz perhaps (wink, wink) along with some sweet treats.
There are many hotels, pubs, and restaurants across the UK that offer exactly this kind of service – luxury afternoon tea coupled with some fine wine and sweet & fancy delights. But if the two of you feel like chilling indoors, go ahead and order in a hamper or treat your dearest mummy to one of those bouquets accompanied by a bottle of bubbly or, perhaps, her favourite wine.
Popcorn + Sunday silver screen show
When was the last time you and your mum really kicked back and watched a movie together, reminiscing old times?
Either handpick a favourite movie from the past or check the local cinema’s showings to take in a movie the two of you can enjoy. Oh, and go all out on the overpriced, buttery popcorn, the pick’n’mix delights and the ice cream – hey, there’s no reason you can’t enjoy all three at the same time, right?
Time to hit the shops
Ah, yes – it’s true what they say, particularly when it comes to women: when in doubt, hit the shops!
Summer’s practically around the corner so wouldn’t you say it’s the perfect time to start sprucing up your holiday wardrobe along with your mum’s?
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning a trip with your beloved mum this year or not – there’s still a good chance she’s been fantasising about getting a new hat she saw in one of those pop-up ads, a pair of sunnies she saw while window shopping or a linen dress while sifting through her favourite fashion magazine.
What if you don’t find what you want to buy? What if you don’t end up buying anything at all? No worries, the changing room escapades deserve a reel on their own! So, once you’re done buying (or trying out) outfits, shoes, and whatnot, stop for some lunch or a heavenly slice of cake, and then get right back to it!
Picnic time – Take a stroll or cycle through scenic vistas
The mercury is going to be rising steadily by the time March arrives, so do check the forecast before embarking on your little adventure. Grab all the appropriate layers of clothing along with a good sunscreen and take your beautiful mum for a picnic at a local beauty spot or park.
Most mums love staying active outdoors, so why not take an appetising lunch with you and enjoy a leisurely walk or cycle afterwards? In fact, if you reside near the coast, even better: nothing beats a day out at the seaside with your favourite person in the whole world.
Might we suggest taking her tipple of choice to raise a toast to show your love and gratitude at the right moment? Some sparkle and dark chocolate can really inject extra pleasure into your picnic and outdoor activity.
Visit a pottery café, paint her something truly special
Pottery cafes are not just for children. They’re actually the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon for a spot of mindful painting.
Indeed, a great way to spend quality time with your dearie mumsy boo where you can gift her the finished product as a token of your unlimited love, friendship, and appreciation. Could be anything too, really – a mug you made for her morning brew or a jug to keep those fabulous flowers you brought her for Mother’s Day.
Not a natural painter? Nothing to worry about – your ‘work’ will likely still be better than any piece of art you brought her home back in your school days.
