Today, more and more of us are becoming increasingly conscious of how our decisions and actions impact our environment. From reducing our consumption to choosing environmentally friendly options, we are all making changes to live a more sustainable life.

All of our products are made with our environment in mind, and this got us thinking – how can we extend the life of our slippers even further? Read on to discover three ways to recycle or reuse your Sheepers…

1. Create Helpful Items for your Home

If you’re not quite ready to part with your Sheepers, there are a few ways in which you can reuse them around your home. If you’re crafty and love to sew, why not make a large pin cushion using a single slipper. Create a small pillow to pop inside, and push it down into the toe to help keep it in place. Pop your pins in and you’ve got a quirky and helpful pin cushion that will extend the life of your Sheepers.

2. Recycle or Gift to Someone Else

While sheepskin is 100% biodegradable, it’s still a good idea to take any unwanted slippers to a recycling centre to ensure it’s dealt with properly. There are lots of fantastic textile recycling centres around that will take your unwanted items and ensure they are properly disposed of or reused, so that they don’t end up in landfill. If your Sheepers still have some life left in them, why not gift them to someone in need? There are lots of charities that will happily take slippers and shoes in good condition and make sure they are passed on to someone that really needs them.

3. Revitalise to Extend Wearability

All of our slippers are designed with long-term use in mind, but as with any shoes or slippers, they can be revitalised to make them last even longer. You can read our full care guide here, but when your Sheepers are in need of a spruce up, try hand washing them with a specialist wool shampoo to help give them a boost. Once dry, consider using a protective spray to keep them going for even longer.

This makes each product unique and ensures they are produced in the most sustainable way possible. All of our packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable, and further still, sheepskin is 100% biodegradable too. Finally, all of our sheepskin comes from Spain and is a by-product that may otherwise go to waste. Our supplies are regulated and are sourced in an ethical manner.
