Should this make the ‘top 10 things to do during lockdown’ list?

It might not have reached many of the ‘top 10 things to do during lockdown’ lists, but it’s definitely a pastime that’s seeing a resurgence… What are we talking about? Colouring for adults. Several years ago now, there was a real trend for stressed out, screen-absorbed adults to pick up a felt-tip and start shading in between the lines. The terminology always sounded a little odd ‘adult’ colouring books – denoting more intricate designs and/or more grown up themes perhaps – but they needed to differentiate themselves from those for children… Still… They took off as a method of decluttering and focusing the mind, the repetition was almost seen as a form of meditation if some the art therapists were to be believed. So it seems at a time when there’s only so much daytime TV a person can take, and more seriously, when mental health issues are coming to the fore – with early research already indicating a significant increase in the numbers of people struggling with loneliness for example – focusing on an enjoyable and relaxing activity could go some way to alleviate some of the stress.

And here at Sheepers HQ, we’ve come up with our own small contribution to help… And you could win yourself a pair of our slippers in the process… So why not download the image today, pick up a felt-tip or three and design your own Sheepers. If you tag us on social media (you can find us on FB, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #welcometotheflock or email your efforts to [email protected], we will pick our winner. Bonus points will be awarded to those entries drawn free-hand! But you’ve got to be quick, if reports are true… The competition will end when lockdown is over. We are ever the optimist here at Sheepers!
